Is Armenia going to have a male dominated society?

Do you think you know the answer to this question? Maybe you think you do…and maybe you are right…or maybe you aren’t! So find out this week! At AUNA Euroclub we are working to raise awareness on Gender Equality in Armenia. This Saturday 5th of July we are hosting an event at the EU centre about “Ethical, legal, social and political implications of Gender Selection: is Armenia going to have a male dominated society?”

The meeting will be lead by AUNA intern Suren Galstyan, 2nd year student of Master of Public Health at American University of Armenia and then we will open the floor for comments from the audience. A short video will also be screened featuring a UNFPA study in Armenia.

AUNA Euroclub EU integration vs Eurasian Union Debating Event

Our debating event on Saturday 14th was a great opportunity to inform and learn more about the very crucial topic of Armenian integration process towards both the EU and the Eurasian Union, we would like to thank all the young and talented participants who made this event unforgettable! Thanks to your contribution Emma Margaryan, Albert Hayrapetyan, Artyom Avagyan, Nare Chobanyan, Raffi Elliott, Arman Gasparyan, Suren Avetisyan!

A big thank you to AUNA expert Davit Dilanyan for introducing the event and giving his precious contribution to start the debate! We hope to have more opportunities of dialogue and confrontation with such kind of friendly and open-minded attitude and wish everyone a pleasant day!

EU integration vs Eurasian Union DEBATING EVENT

Are you passionate about debating? Do you think you can sell ice to the Eskimos?

Do you have an interest in the Eurasian or European integration of Armenia?

AUNA Euroclub is looking for YOU!

Apply to our EU integration vs Eurasian Union debating event which is going to be held at the EU Center on Mashtots Avenue 43/34, Yerevan, on June 14th from 2pm to 4 pm.

The participants will be divided in two teams (pro-EU and pro-Eurasian Union) randomly defending this or that statement.

Davit Dilanyan (AUNA expert) will introduce the event by having a presentation on the topic followed by debate!

All the participants will be awarded with certificates at the end of the event.

The event is open to the public.

AUNA Euroclub EU-Armenia quiz winners!

We at AUNA Euroclub are still working on many other events, coming up this week a Movie Screening at the EU centre! However we do not forget to congratulate our EU-Armenia quiz participants on their well deserved prize! Lilit Sargsyan won the quiz earning two tickets to any movies at Cinema Star! AUNA Euroclub Ukraine Round Table event!

Do you want to share your opinion on the current situation in Ukraine? Are you interested in knowing what other young people have to say on that regard, or eager to hear different perspectives on the matter?

AUNA Euroclub is hosting a thematic debate on the current situation in Ukraine. The event will be hosted at the EU Centre on Mashtots ave this Saturday 17th May from 2 pm to 4 pm. The discussion will be introduced by a group of young panelists Suren Avetisyan ( Co-director at International Development Area NGO, International Affairs Analyst), Raffi Elliott (Blogger and Political commentator focusing on political and economic developments in Eastern Europe and Caucasus) and Sos Avetisyan (Regional Master Programme in Human Rights and Democratization). We will then open the floor to comments and questions from the audience. This event is organized and lead by young people for other young people, in the framework of a non-formal education format, we are open to everyone’s contribution to the topic discussion.

As the event is open to the public, you are all kindly invited to take part! Looking forward to meeting you there 🙂

May 17th Ukraine round table debate

Round table discussion and debate on the EU-Ukraine relations and current situation. The event will be open to the public.

Duration: 2 hrs

May 31st EU-Armenia quiz event

Quiz event at the EU center.  A teaser for the event  will be issued before the event takes place.

The quiz will be providing knowledge with an innovative approach, as a form of interactive lecture. The people who have answered right to all questions will get a surprise award!

June 7th Gender equality movie screening

Caterina Duca, president of AUNA Euroclub is going to have a brief introductory talk about the content of the video.

We will feature the movie “Killing us softly IV” speaking about media and women perception. Debate will follow. The event will be open to the public. In conclusion of the meeting we will present our movie-survey on Gender Equality.

June 13th EU integration vs Eurasian Union debating event

Hrant Kostanyan (expert) will start the event by having a presentation on the topic followed by debate!

Three weeks ahead of the event we will publish the call for applicants on our blog. The participants will then be divided in two teams (pro- EU and pro- Eurasian Union) randomly defending this or that statement. The event is meant to be open to the public.

Duration: 3 hrs

Venue: EU Centre, Mashtots Avenue 43/34, Yerevan

July 5th Women’s health and rights

Presentation of data and analysis in the form of Gap Minder Presentation. We will try to discuss about sexual reproductive health and rights and present all pros and cons of sexual education. The event will be open to the public.

Duration: 2 hrs

Venue: EU Centre, Mashtots Avenue 43/34, Yerevan

Cultural evenings:

Both I and Alexandrina would like to speak about our Countries and present their differences and similarities to Armenia, tell about our experiences as, as well as invite other EVS volunteers to share their experiences in this Country.

Educational systems in the EU, a comparative approach

Dear readers,

AUNA Euroclub is pleased to invite you to participate to our next meeting and discussion of the club!

This time we will explore together European educational systems and reveal their features comparing them with the existing educational system in Armenia.
